Walking With Christ was born from an informal devotional series launched in 2019 with a simple purpose: to encourage believers to let Scripture shape their daily lives. Written in an expository style—verse by verse, chapter by chapter—we aim not only to understand God’s Word more deeply, but also to apply it faithfully, allowing it to transform how we live, think, and walk with Christ each day.

Below you can read our expository devotionals, and if you prefer to listen in audio format please check out the Podcast page.

  • Continue Steadfastly In Prayer

Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving. At the same time, pray also for us, that God may open to us a door for the word, to declare the mystery of Christ, on account of which I am in prison— that I may make it clear, which is how I ought to…

  • Work Heartily

Bondservants, obey in everything those who are your earthly masters, not by way of eye-service, as people-pleasers, but with sincerity of heart, fearing the Lord. Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the…

  • Following Christ in the Family Structure

Wives, submit to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. Husbands, love your wives, and do not be harsh with them. Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord. Fathers, do not provoke your children, lest they become discouraged. Colossians 3:18-21 ESV As we look at this passage in context, we…

  • And Whatever You Do

The Apostle Paul spent most of what we know as Colossians 3 giving instructions to the church on how to conduct themselves as believers.  He concludes his exhortation with what might considered a concise summary of all he’s written thus far: And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of…

  • All Things Were Created By Him

As we saw last time, there is simply no scriptural argument against the divinity of Christ.  The bible makes it clear that Jesus is unique in all the universe as being the one and only Son of God, and today we see even more of His exclusive power and position. For by him all things…

  • The Word of Christ

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. Colossians 3:16 ESV The word is certainly an interesting theological study all by itself.  Rendered from the Greek logos it can have many meanings,…

  • The Peace of Christ

And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful. Colossians 3:15 ESV We are in the middle of the exhortation and encouragement to right living that Paul gave the Colossae church, now with the instruction to “let the peace of Christ rule…

  • Put On Love

Last time we looked at Colossians 3:5-11 and Paul’s overarching list of things that Christians must abstain from; actions that hurt people and clearly violate God’s moral law.  Today we turn the page over and look at a list of behaviors that every true Christian should be exhibiting in their lives; actions that build up…

  • Put On The New Self

When we opened Colossians 3, we learned about the importance of Paul’s command that we “seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God,” and to “set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth,” (Col. 3:1-2).This is basically a summary of…

  • Seek The Things Above

Last time, we closed out Colossians 2 looking at Paul’s instructions to the church to avoid adhering to religious rites and manmade traditions in a futile effort to earn favor with God because we now have freedom in Christ – freedom from the law of works and freedom from the chains of sin.  Today we…
